What we store on your device, why we store it, and how to turn it off.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a site keeps in your browser. Local storage and pixels do a similar job. We use the word cookies for all of them.

What we use them for

Strictly necessary. Keeping you signed in, remembering your place in a course, protecting forms from abuse. The site does not work without these.

Analytics. Telling us which lessons get used and where people get stuck, in aggregate, so we can improve the course.

Why the necessary ones can't be switched off

Without them the site cannot tell one visitor from another between page loads. You'd be signed out on every click, your place in a course wouldn't save, and the enrolment form couldn't tell a person from a bot. They carry no advertising value to anyone.

Turning them off

You can accept or reject non-essential cookies when you first arrive, and change your mind whenever you like. Every browser can block or clear cookies too, though blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop you staying signed in.
