How edBuddy Pro collects, uses and protects your personal data, and the rights you have over it under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who we are
edBuddy Pro operates edbuddy.pro and the courses offered on it. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we are the data fiduciary for the information described below. You can reach us at admin@edbuddypro.com.
What we collect
Three kinds of data. What you give us: your name, email, phone number, the role you pick, and anything you type into a form or a lab. What your use of the courses tells us: the lessons you opened, how far through a module you are, the labs you finished, the device you used. And confirmation of payment from our processor, which includes the last four digits of a card and nothing more.
We never see or store a full card number.
What that looks like in practice
You enrol in AI for HR. We store your name and work email so we can issue the certificate in the right name, the fact you completed module 4, and that your payment succeeded. We do not store your card number, your employer's HR data, or anything you paste into a third-party AI tool during a lab; that goes to that tool, under its own terms.
Why we use it
To deliver the course you bought, record your progress, issue and verify your certificate, answer your questions, and send you service messages about your enrolment. Separately, to understand which parts of a course work and which do not, so we can fix the parts that don't.
Where we rely on your consent, such as marketing email, you can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it.
How long we keep it
Account and progress data stays for as long as your account is active, so your certificate remains verifiable. Financial records are kept for the period Indian tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for a summary of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or complete it, ask us to erase it where we no longer need it, and nominate someone to exercise these rights if you cannot. Write to admin@edbuddypro.com and we will answer within the statutory period. If our answer doesn't satisfy you, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
How to actually make a request
Email us from the address on your account with what you want: a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. We may ask one question to confirm it's you. You'll get a written answer, and if we say no, we'll say why.
Deleting your account also deletes your certificate record, so it can no longer be verified by an employer. We'll warn you before that happens.
Children
edBuddy Pro is built for working professionals. We do not knowingly process a child's personal data, and we do not track or advertise to children. If you believe a child has given us data, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you by email or a notice on the site before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
